When needed, UNESCO would provide financial help to the state parties for the protection of the heritage site through the world heritage funds. The members of the state would provide the names of the sites which needs global recognition and the committee would select the most important sites and inscribe them into the list of world heritage sites.

Including of new sites in cultural and natural heritage list by UNESCO not only help in protecting the site from being damaged or destroyed but also help in making it as a new tourist destination. A site which is inscribed in the list of world heritage sites gets a global recognition which naturally attracts tourists to visit the place.
